How to disable voicemail in Skype

Skype's voicemail system will override Google Voice's voicemail system, so it is important that voicemail on your skype account be disabled if you want voicemails to be handled by Google Voice.

These instructions show how to disable voicemail on your Skype account using the Mac OS X version of the Skype client.

  1. Launch Skype and go to "Preferences..." in the application menu

  2. Click on "Calls" in the Skype preference window

  3. Uncheck "Send unanswered calls to Skype Voicemail"
